Можно сказать, что женщины изобрели фантастику, в конце концов, именно Франкенштейн Мэри Шелли многими считается первым фантастическим романом. Тем не менее, некоторые читатели почему-то придерживаются забавного представления о том, что женщины не пишут или не могут писать научную фантастику.

Некоторые даже заходят настолько далеко, что обвиняют женщин в уничтожении научно-фантастического жанра своими писульками (в оригинале написано "девичьими вошками"). Так что, чтобы доказать, насколько глупо это звучит, июньский выпуск журнала LIGHTSPEED включает в себя только произведения, написанные женщинами, под редакцией приглашенной редакторки.
